My thoughts on connections
Tilde...I mean, I just don't get it. You can test every single word on a page if you get stuck on one (for most pages that is) but some of the others are just like, wtf?

== My thoughts on connections ==

Here's my thoughts on how each page leads to the next put together in one place (all of which was found on my own, I only just thought to :

"opposite" on http://www.anotherversionofthetruth.com/0/
Since the word "work" is highlighted, "play" is what comes to mind
"it has six letters, all in alphabetical order" on http://www.anotherversionofthetruth.com/0/play/ This one I found simply by reading and rereading the passage until "glossy" finally stood out
"what you really want to be remembered for" on http://www.anotherversionofthetruth.com/0/glossy/
At first I thought it had something to do with her ice skating, but upon re-reading, you notice that "Girl
Scouts" is highlighted, hence "goldaward" (the highest award in Girl Scouting, similar to the Boy Scout Eagle,
but harder, in my opinion)
"made up of the same four letters, repeated." on http://www.anotherversionofthetruth.com/0/goldaward/
Now, don't be fooled into thinking this means four letters with some of them repeated, it means all of them
repeated, hence "hotshots"
"the missing direction" on http://www.anotherversionofthetruth.com/0/hotshots/
Reading through the site you find "up", "down", and "right" leaving "left" as the missing one
"N1*N2*N3*N4" on http://www.anotherversionofthetruth.com/0/left/
Playing with the numbers on the page and my calculator shows that you start at the first number that isn't the
page index (in this case 5) and multiply them together: 11*4*36*2 = 3168
"Adding 1 letter to the end turns a 1 syllable word to 3" on http://www.anotherversionofthetruth.com/0/3168/
This was a stumper, so I'm not going to lie, I tried every combination I could think of, but just couldn't come
up with one that worked until I pounded it out to find "cameo"
"...fear of..." on http://www.anotherversionofthetruth.com/0/cameo/
This page prominently features the side affects of "copper", and when you look through the words "big open
spaces feel" are framed by ellipses, and the word for the fear of such spaces is "agoraphobia"
"It has 7 musical notes" on http://www.anotherversionofthetruth.com/0/agoraphobia
Originally I was thinking of a musical scale, but since "scale" didn't work, i thought of what the note names
are (a, b, c, d, e, f, and g) and started looking for seven letter words completely comprised of these letters
and found "baggage"
"made up of one of one, two of another and three of a third." on http://www.anotherversionofthetruth.com/0/baggage/
This was found though looking through the words for one comprised of one of a single letter, two of a different
letter, and three of another, which yielded "tattoo" (one 'a', two 'o's, and three 't's)
"+zinc" on http://www.anotherversionofthetruth.com/0/tattoo/
Originally I was "ha! vitamin!" then, that seemed really silly. Upon another rereading, my bare chemistry
knowledge poked me to remind me that copper and zinc form..."brass"
"able was I ere…" on http://www.anotherversionofthetruth.com/0/brass/
Plugging the phrase into Google seemed a wise choice, as it seemed familiar, but I couldn't quite place it, so I
found many sites referring to palindromes, of which you find "radar" on the page
"all the vowels" on http://www.anotherversionofthetruth.com/0/radar/
Ah the fun of words with all five vowels..."equation"
"cabbage king's mood" on http://www.anotherversionofthetruth.com/0/equation/
Since the text mentions cole slaw (the main ingredient of which is...cabbage!), my mind jumped to Old King Cole, a nursery
rhyme with the line about him being a "merry old soul"...hence, "merry"
"past present" on http://www.anotherversionofthetruth.com/0/merry/
Originally I was like, huh, maybe something to do with time, and infinity so, part of infinity looks sorta like
a tilde! Yeah, that was pretty lucky, but on rethinking and looking at the page again, I saw that the words
"swing" and "dashed" were highlighted ("something" as well, but it was a link, so I guess I discounted it). So,
these should technically correspond to the clue, as the other highlighted text has in this sequence. So:
swing --> swung and dashed --> dash gives you "swung dash" which (when plugged into Google for the fun of it)
shares that this is another name for the tilde
"works backwards" on http://www.anotherversionofthetruth.com/0/~
Really, the only word on the page that works for this is "lived", which gives us "devil", which leads you to the
end of this exciting puzzle.

EDIT: Of all the places I didn't think to look, heh, but there's some really great discussion on http://www.echoingthesound.org about how they found stuff, if you want a different explanation.
