'''Mark Romanek''' (born September 18, 1959) is an award-winning music video director and film director. He has directed music videos for numerous artists such as [[The The]], [[David Bowie]], Red Hot Chili Peppers, Beck and Sonic Youth.
One of his earliest notable videos was for the [[Nine Inch Nails]] song "[[Closer]]." Its critical acclaim was matched by its critical controversy as many accused the video of being disturbing, demonic and demented. Romanek worked with NIN again for the song "[[The Perfect Drug (song)|The Perfect Drug]]."
