The 2006 Bridge School Benefit took place on October 21 and 22, 2006, at the Shoreline Amphitheatre in Mountain View, CA. The Bridge School Benefit is an annual benefit concert organized by Neil Young and his wife to raise money and awareness for the Bridge School, which provides education and support for disabled children and their familes.

These concerts were unique in that they were the first (and so far only) solo acoustic concerts for Trent Reznor. He was backed by a string quartet, playing a selection of Nine Inch Nails songs, including instrumental pieces.

Line-Up
*Vanessa Freebairn-Smith: Cello
*Ana Lenchantin: Cello
*Pablo Motta: Upright bass
*Trent Reznor: Vocals, piano, small percussion
*Martin St. Pierre: Violin, sitar

Stage Set-Up
The stage set-up for both of these performances was very basic. Bridge School students and their parents got to sit at the back of the stage to view the performance. Lights shone on Reznor and the string ensemble while large monitors above and around the stage projected the performance.

Setlist
The set-list is not offically know, but it has been said that songs such as "Piggy", Hurt", and "The Fragile". Full report at http://www.ultimate-guitar.com/news/general_music_news/trent_reznor_performs_first_solo_show_at_benefit.html.

A Perfect Circle
A Perfect Circle was formed in 1999 by Billy Howerdel, a guitar tech for NIN, Tool, and Smashing Pumpkins (he bears some resemblance to Billy Corgan). Although Howerdel had originally envisioned having a female vocalist, Maynard James Keenan offered his vocal abilities to the project after hearing some demos. Danny Lohner, Jeordie White, and Josh Freese are among the other members. APC opened for NIN during Fragility v2.0 in 2000.

Army of Anyone
Army of Anyone is the new Filter, with Richard Patrick and the old members of Stone Temple Pilots. Their first record came out late 2006.

Black Light Burns
As the successor to The Damning Well, Black Light Burns also includes Danny Lohner on guitar/keyboards/sound design and Josh Freese on drums. However, like NIN, this is mainly Wes Borland's project in the studio, with the other musicians serving for the live component.

The Damning Well
The Damning Well is a rock band comprising several NIN members: Richard Patrick on vocals, Danny Lohner on bass, and Josh Freese on drums, as well as Wes Borland of Limp Bizkit on guitar. So far, they have only one released song, "Awakening", on the Underworld soundtrack (2003). The rest of the album they have recorded has no signs of ever being released.

Filter
Filter was formed by Richard Patrick after his departure from NIN. They have 3 albums.

Guns N' Roses
Robin Finck and Josh Freese have played for Guns N' Roses. Various hidden references to GNR exist in nin.com's "current" photos.

nearLY
nearLY is Jerome Dillon's solo project. The album reminder (2005) is inspired by Dillon's recurring dream.

Nine Inch Dix
A Californian hip-hop group created by Snoop Dogg in 2004. Their first album Cumming Soon will come out in summer 2007. In the words of Snoop Dogg,

:Nine Inch Dix was a group that we created years ago at the studio with Dr. Dre. Me, Mel-Man, a couple of other cats, just because we liked the Nine Inch Nails and we was like “We need to be the first black rock group called the Nine Inch Dix.” We was just clowning around and all we used to do was take old school songs, and put our own twist on it, like “I’d Rather Fuck With U”, the shit Eazy-E and all them niggas used to do back then? Take songs and then just put nasty shit on them.
:The Nine Inch Dix is creating a fan base and really making some good music that’s good for the soul and good for the heart, because it’s shit that niggas couldn’t normally say! We’re saying when we’re the Nine Inch Dix, we don’t give a fuck!
:Snoop Dogg, Soopafly, Lil Half Dead, Jelly Roll, Mel-Man, Sean Lewan, Lil G, LT Hutton… it’ a lot of members man! We got members man! Cause on certain songs, niggas just slide by and get to singing, then nigga you in the group! That’s what it is! Oh yeah, and you gotta be nine inches though, but that ain’t for me to tell, the bitches gotta say that!

Puscifer
Maynard James Keenan's side project, Puscifer, has 2 officially released songs: "REV 22:20" and "The Undertaker (Renholdër Mix)" on the Underworld soundtracks. A remix of the former, "REV 22:20 (REV 4:20 Mix)" by Charlie Clouser, was on the Saw II soundtrack. Further work is in progress with Danny Lohner, Lustmord, and others.

What are subnets and how does one go about scanning them? In other words, the discovery of this site is a complete mystery to me; I don't get it. Anyone care to expand a little bit? Thanks much. Tsguitar 22:55, 23 April 2007 (PDT)
:Subnets in this context refer to ranges of IP addresses that are the same in the first three bytes, and differ in the fourth byte. For example, 192.168.1.0 through 192.168.1.255 comprise one subnet. (Each component of an IP address is 1 byte and therefore can have a value from 0 to 255.) So, by "scanning a subnet," they mean they've taken existing ARG website IP addresses, and searched for active web servers on the other 255 IP addresses associated with that subnet. Note that webservers are very unlikely (though it's not impossible) to have an IP address ending in 0 or 255. (Networking fancypants will be quick to point out oversimplifications in my explanation, but that's the basic idea.) --Mr z 05:31, 24 April 2007 (PDT)

Hey, I've noticed you on the Wiki. You're doing great - adding a lot of great content. I also noticed that on a talk page, you signed your name the manual way (or didn't sign at all). There's a trick to it - type four ~ in a row, and you'll get your "signature". You can also press the "Signature" button, which is second from the right on the bar above the edit textbox.
It's weird though, Trent specifically said he hates fans like that, and that his music is an outlet for his own problems, not for other people to feed upon and become what he speaks of. I got the new album a week early because of a screw up at insound. Not that many people who I have let listen to it liked it, simply because it wasn't depressing. Case in point, if you wanna listen to music that is made specifically to make you empty inside, listen to one of the other thousands of crap bands out there. If you want to hear an artistic, inspiring expression of self, listen to NIN. There the whole reason I learned to play guitar. Whenever I play for someone, I usually play my joke version of Terrible Lie, (Terrible Fries), although I will occasionaly sing the correct lyrics if I need to release some tension. Wish is a good song too. Case in Point, if you can't take a simple joke, then don't go somewhere or talk to people that are going to upset you. Hell, if you watch the tour side of closure, that's pretty much all that Trent does is go around and have fun. And you don't see him now, sitting in a corner crying because someone says his hair looks retarded short (I actually like it), or pissed off because of whatever. My advice to whoever it is you made mad--- GET OVER IT> -Crazyninfan 15:40, 14 April 2007 (PDT)
Unless you want to I'm gonna trim most of your edits to leave just a short description and the link to the full articles. Sorry :/ BurnHavoc 08:04, 16 April 2007 (PDT)
Hey, I noticed on your page that you mentioned the death of Kurt Vonnegut. I actually might have done the same thing...if it crossed my mind, haha. I've only read "All The Kings Men" and "Harrison Bergeron", but you could tell the guy was brilliant.
Hoax!
Isn't it pretty clear that this is a hoax? Firefox users do this: right-click on the Year Zero page and select "View Page Info." It gives the last time the page was modified a couple of lines above the "Meta" box. If they added these videos to the site, this date would've changed on 9 Apr, then again (on 10 Apr? or whatever date they were removed) when the videos were removed. Currently the modify date on the site is still 4 Apr 2007. MadCactus 15:17, 10 April 2007 (PDT)
:There's a lot of evidence to indicate that they were never up on NIN.com, not that they aren't real. The jury is still out on that, as if they are a hoax they're extrodinarily elaborate. But this page isn't about what is or is not real, this is about the facts and what we know for sure. "Pretty clear" or "somewhat obvious" don't make truths. Until we know for sure, it'll still be undecided. Now real or not, though, I have to admit they were pretty damn cool videos. GrayscaleRain 15:55, 10 April 2007 (PDT)
:: The only evidence to them not being up on nin.com is the admin saying he polls the site. Unfortunatly it's not hard to change the site for a short ammount of time and revert it back without chaning the "modified" timestamp on the original page... including virtual directroy redirecting and copy&paste. The trackers poll the site every now and then, not 24/7. It's not hard to get a temporary change through until they knew someone downloaded the videos.
:::So like I said... the jury's still out on this one. GrayscaleRain 21:52, 10 April 2007 (PDT)
::::No, it's fake. They're bad, bad, horrible quality videos. It's fake. ETS admins have more knowledge than you may think.--Tonyconverse! 11:21, 16 April 2007 (PDT)

i think we can say for certain that the angry sniper is running bethehammer.net and is also bethehammer in the forums on anotherversionofthetruth.com

evidence:

1) listen to the end of the ballGameOver.mp3 and you'll hear him say "a credit card and a hardware store can make you a hero". the same line of text appears at the end of the "efficiency" section on bethehammer.net

2) the style of diction in ballGameOver.mp3 is the same as on bethehammer.net

3) the sniper blew up wrigley field, bethehammer posted a picture of the ballgame

4) bethehammer.net bio section says that the author was in the 105th. so does the sniper in ballGameOver.mp3

so i vote to remove the wording that implies we don't know they are the same person for sure. i think the evidence is overwhelming.

Mmkay, as it says on the front, it could either be Corey Taylor or Trent Teznor. I decided to test the two by placing an NIN song on top of bgO, and then a Stone Sour song (basically because Corey doesn't scream as much there). Results? It definately isn't Trent. It definately sounds more like Corey, but I didn't know he and Trent even talked. I'd stick with Corey until somebody came in with equiptment instead of an iPod and a computer. --Electric 11:48, 29 April 2007 (PDT)
Electrichttps://www.nin.wiki/index.php?title=Talk:Act_Patriotic&diff=11449Talk:Act Patriotic2007-04-29T18:32:58Z
Electric: /* bad request? */

Discovery?
Michael Reznor
I put in the Glossary this information:

Michael Reznor
*Michael J. Reznor: The father of Trent Reznor
*Michael T. Reznor: See Trent Reznor

Leo3375 deleted the information, citing "Removed due to personal information concerns". And when I asked why, she further explained that when she was working on the bio for Trent and that you said that naming relatives of any band members could be seen as an invasion of privacy; which is understandable. Unfortunately, like I pointed out to Leo3775, Trent's dad's name is not a secret. In fact, it is even listed in the article of Trent Reznor on Wikipedia. It was further pointed out that if you do a Google search, the information comes right up also.

But, I did not put the information up so I could share information that is available just about anywhere. I put it up because people may hear or see the name "Michael Reznor" and I wanted to let them know that it's not only Trent's name, but it was his father's name, too. I don't plan on adding Trent's mom, sister, grandma, grandpa, or any other family member's name. So, may I reinstate the information? M.A.X. 16:45, 28 April 2007 (PDT)

First off, my name is Eric. I'm a multi instrumentalist (I can play Guitar, Piano, Bass, and Drums quite fluently, except the last two, I'm still beginning on those). I've been following the Year Zero story for maybe two months, and I've been very deep in it, exploring every possiblity.

I am loud-mouthed. I talk a lot. I have a booming laugh. My favorite band is Breaking Benjamin (Nine Inch Nails is basically 3rd). I the best I can play on guitar can play Stairway to Heaven by Led Zep , and best on piano is play Driven Under by Seether (it's very touching when you hear it like that), A Different Kind Of Pain by Cold, or Hurt by Johnny Cash. I can best play White Room by Cream on Drums, and several songs on Bass.

Now, leave a comment. We could be friends. I'm very easy to get along with. And I'm desperate for comments, haha. I have several places where you can friend request me:

I have a facebook (link coming soon)
a) The numbers are a reference number system for the clues
b) there's a connection between the number system and the bible passages after all
c) WE are the Pilgrims. The Pilgrim Stream is the name for the series of clues.
Pilgrims are seekers. They go on a journey, traditionally following some type of trail. Look at holy pilgrimages.
After reading Grace the Teacher, it ocurred to me that it might be influenced by "Me, I'm Not."
Tie in with Poe's Masque of the Red Death?
The sickess described by Mia is quite similar to the one portrayed by Edgar Allan Poe in "The Mask of the Red Death". Blood sweating included.
In that short tale, a prince locked himself in a castle with 1,000 friends to avoid that plague but, eventually, the Red Death found its way in during a costume party. It is quite "similar" to the "terrorist attack": people locked in a party, who cannot escape from the Red Death. The difference is, this time, it was the cops (and not themselves) who locked them in.

: That story was symbolic for the seperation of nobles from commoners though they were the same. The people were nobles in the story, while the people inside were just regular people. --Velvolver 11:24, 4 March 2007 (PST)

::I wouldn't go that far with the "nobles/commoners" story. This DOES bear a striking resembelence to the mask of red death.
::Some differences...
::The prince (Masque of Red Death Story) died of fright, not by a knife.
:: The people weren't locked in a closet, just an abbey. They were (Masque), however, in open rooms.

::Some Similarites...
::The Red Death DID have a knife (if memory serves).
::The Red Death WAS in red (just like our murderer).
::People were sweating blood (it was one of the symptoms of the plauge).

::If I get more info, I'll come back later.
All Circuits' Busy?
Whenever I call this number now it comes up with a message saying all circuits are busy and then it gives a string of numbers... 8?133-2 is what I hear... Does this mean anything? now that this leads to a voicemail system, has anyone tried unique number sets. usually the numbers for voicemail systems are 1 to 3 digits, some can be 6 (for numerical only) if there's a name search tool, has anyone tried hunting for the agent's names (such as Sikes, etc) in there? The sickess described by Mia is quite similar to the one portrayed by Edgar Allan Poe in "The Mask of the Red Death". Blood sweating included.
In that short tale, a prince locked himself in a castle with 1,000 friends to avoid that plague but, eventually, the Red Death found its way in during a costume party. It is quite "similar" to the "terrorist attack": people locked in a party, who cannot escape from the Red Death. The difference is, this time, it was the cops (and not themselves) who locked them in.
Could this imply that the presence is essentially the right hand of God? It was said somewhere (not on the year zero related websites) that with his left hand God is said to care for and protect life on earth, where as with the right hand righteous relationships with God are restored. So is God flexing his authority in the form of the presence as an attempt to regain balance in the world? a theory I wanted to note was about the phrase "Carolina's in the tarpit." Perhaps they mean she has succeeded in time travel (like Velvolver speculated) and has gone back in time to send banned books and songs... to the others? I took it as they were going back in time, retrieving files that were (in year 0000) gone (banned), and sending them forward in time, but perhaps I'm wrong. I was just thinking about it, since tarpits are known for their ability to preserve animals/dinosaurs that fell into them.
Also, the link is still working for me. Perhaps you didn't put the pieces close enough together? I'm not sure.
The N's in the boxes? Maybe?

*I think it's just a happy coincidence. Take a look at the diagram on this page. The boxes w/ a slash are polarizers. SBI utilizes quantum cryptography, and most of these diagrams have to do with quantum mechanics, including the optics of generating entangled photons. --Mr z 13:12, 7 March 2007 (PST)

There's actually more on the page than just the think to drag to help you log in... There are other options to the left of the page that include information about some people, some mentioned being Darren Kroupa, who is helping with the production of the album, as is seen here: http://www.nin.com/current/photos/1_26_07.jpg

Anyways~ they say that he was arrested by a guy named Marty Chadwick (who I couldn't find any information on, although there is a Chadwick Martin technology company). And that he was arrested... blah blah blah... here's the transcript: (I think the only reason I could access this information is because when I loaded the page, none of the log in box fragments loaded...)

"SBI Lead Engineer Marty Chadwick was awarded a framed Certificate of Citizenship for
providing information leading to the capture of notorious underground figure Darren Kroupa.
Chadwick, who recognized Kroupa from his nightly perusing of the 1000 Most Wanted List,
spotted the dissident at a local laundromat and stayed on the scene until police arrived. US
Bureau of Morality Deputy Chief Connie West called the collar, “a major blow for America.”
Kroupa, who rose from the music subculture to become a leading figure in the East Coast
dissident scene, had been wanted on multiple charges stemming from an “underground
concert series” as well as numerous other illegal activities."

There's much more on the page, but I just wanted to spark an interest in it and see if any one else knew about this or anything surrounding it... Jgrizzy89 13:24, 7 March 2007 (PST)

I cant remember the title, but the GE/EN translation is a poem, using symbolic animals as humans during WWII. a title would help, but I forget. good luck.

Another pointless theory :- The photographs of the Presence, excluding the "fake photograph", appear to be right handed. So does the spectograph image found with My Violent Heart. A couple of things that my disprove this idea is the fact there is no obvious thumb on the presence, and that the scribble of the presence in the consolidated mail seems to be left handed...
All the times I've ever heard of God doing something of a supportive nature it was with His right hand, and opposite with His left hand.--Velvolver 11:16, 4 March 2007 (PST)
The Presence on the album cover looks like a left-hand to me. --Mr z 12:26, 4 March 2007 (PST)

All things considered, I doubt God has anything to do with it. It will most likely be left up to interpretation, and we will probably never know what it is cannonically. --Thesmokingman 15:21, 4 March 2007 (PST)
:Regardless of if it is or is not related to God, it is hard to ignore the many biblical referances, specifically to the Book of Revelation. If nothing else, Year Zero appears to be at least partially inspired by the vision of the end of the world presented in the Book of Revelation.

According to the new judson Ogram site, the presence is an alien lifeform (not space aliens, but most likely an earth spirit or something)...and according to the old judson ogram site (John of Boston's) it's religious phenomenon.

Furthermore, it should be noted that people who discuss the presence publically are arrested and sent to the funny farm by Da Man.--Velvolver 13:49, 15 March 2007 (PDT)
Delete What? (Theory)
Excuse me...If you check out the YEAR ZERO promo on yearzero.nin.com, the one where it's taking a video of the country side. Their is a very brief, split second (and i mean split), where a strange noise is heard and blue rushes across the screen. i pause the video, and scrolled back. on the first line it says...

I'M TRYING

on the second, it says...

TO DELETE

any ideas, views?
