"The Fireman" is a song by Angelo Badalamenti, composed for Twin Peaks: The Return. It was used as a taped introduction ahead of shows on the NIN 2017-2018 touring cycle, though shortened and edited towards the end to include a crescendo to the line "Yes, everyone seems to be asleep" from "Dear World,". The song was always followed by "Branches/Bones".
