Reznor and Ross had subsequently revised the song into its final version (as heard on the digital release), and a new, corrected pressing of the vinyl with this version was released in February 2019. The pressings are differentiated by their catalog numbers, with the original being SBR-190 and the repress being SBR-190-RE. The full message reads as follows [https://www.nin.com/nin-halloween-repress/]:

==Digital/Vinyl Differences==The version featured audio contained on the 12" vinyl features several differences when compared to 12” pressing of Halloween released on Sacred Bones is a previous recording of the original digital release. The piano is much sharper and less muted, some Trent Reznor & Atticus Ross version of the stringy sounding synth song, which differs from the reprise what was released digitally last year.A lacquer of the main piano motif is missing‘previous version’ was cut and then scrapped, because Trent and Atticus decided that they could improve upon the drum outro recording. They went on to create the ‘definitive’ track that is completely gone and replaced with nary a sign of a beat at all. It's more implied by bouncing synthesizers than with any kind of percussionavailable everywhere digitally.
In an email released by Sacred Bones it was revealed that in fact A MISTAKE WAS MADE when pressing the currently available 12”, and the vinyl ‘previous’ version was a demoerroneously included. To correct this unforgivable error, which Trent we are reprinting the CORRECT version and Atticus decided will provide it to rework after the vinyl had those who already been pressedpurchased it, free of charge. NIN.com customers do not need to take any additional steps to receive your replacement copy. The vinyl plates have not been updated erronouslyreplacement offer includes those who purchased from other retailers. Customers may contact the original point of purchase for information on how to obtain your replacement from that store.</blockquote>
