I think ones that are incorrect (or believed to be incorrect) should be marked with something, I'm going to start doing that with some of them, go ahead and remove the edits if you don't think it should be there. + | :i don't think there are any for actual studio tracks on actual NIN records. i've been checking them on and off for months and months. some of the earliest tracks may be off, though, and i'm bad at checking remixes, so those are good places to start. - [[User:Seasonsinthesky|seasonsinthesky]] 19:12, 1 May 2010 (PDT) |

I think this would be better as a sortable table, then you could view it by album or by BPM. Moebius 08:50, 20 August 2008 (PDT)
Adding BPMs to song pages
here's my next ambitious idea: to include the BPM rate of every song (studio released, anyway) on its page (and subsequently any differing BPMs for remixes, etc.) and to make the BPM rate a link to the List of BPM Rates page. y/y? help me out on it? - seasonsinthesky 14:25, 9 February 2010 (PST)
- Seems reasonable. I would put them in the song template at the top personally, so would that be a template thing, or would you prefer it to be in the versions header? I think the advantage of it being in the template is that (a) if we code it in, we can change things faster and (b) it'll look prettier, but if you'd rather have it bolded/italicised in versions, your call, you seem to know more about these things. I'll be happy to implement any template changes needed, or copy.paste in the 200 and whatever numbers sheepdean Try to speak as clearly as you can 15:42, 9 February 2010 (PST)
- pffft that sounds like the easiest way to me (the template thing), if you want to do that. i'd much rather not edit all the song articles just to stick in a sentence per version about its BPM! also, for the tracks that don't have a listed BPM yet, i'll work on that when i can, since it kinda bugs me that some of them are blatantly off — for instance, i checked out the RWIB tempo the other week and it was WAY OFF on the List of BPM Rates page — and we obviously want accuracy here. - seasonsinthesky 18:18, 9 February 2010 (PST)
- As I'm not about to break open ninwiki and throw in a ton of java, each page will still have to be edited, but only 3 or 4 characters per song version. Also, as I was just looking at the coding for the song template, I've noticed a problem - we can't just put it in next to each version unless we do it manually. So maybe we only do the bpm of the original mix at first, and then try and decide how to make the remixes lok good (or not do them at all). I have ideas, but they will require tricky behaviour... For now:
Album: | {{{album}}} |
---|---|
Length: | {{{length}}} |
BPM: | {{{BPM}}} |
Versions: | {{{versions}}} |
Live: | {{{live}}} |
- this looks marvelous for a start, good sir! who even cares about remixes? :D - seasonsinthesky 18:49, 9 February 2010 (PST)
- I don't want to put it in until you're sure about all the BPMs though, you can leave remixes, but I don't want us pumping in information we know could be false. Hit me back when you think you've done them all =) sheepdean Try to speak as clearly as you can 18:52, 9 February 2010 (PST)
- christ man, do you understand the deathwish you're signing here?! this is MUCH more tedious work, even more so than editing a wiki! - seasonsinthesky 20:32, 9 February 2010 (PST)
- Another term for BPM is tempo, which is the term I usually use.--leo3375 10:03, 10 February 2010 (PST)
- Hmm, Tempo seems to be a more popular usage - which begs the question, should we rename this page too? sheepdean Try to speak as clearly as you can 11:39, 10 February 2010 (PST)

- i don't think it matters for the page name, since it'll be linked by the word Tempo on the template, right? - seasonsinthesky 17:26, 10 February 2010 (PST)
