Ping (dead?) support Thumb creation error

http://www.ninwiki.com/Closer_To_God_%28halo%29#US -I get the error "Error creating thumbnail: sh: /usr/bin/convert: No such file or directory". I put in the Glossary this information:

Leo3375 deleted the information, citing "Removed due to personal information concerns". And when I asked why, she further explained that when she was working on the bio for Trent and that you said that naming relatives of any band members could be seen as an invasion of privacy; which is understandable. Unfortunately, like I pointed out to Leo3775, Trent's dad's name is not a secret. In fact, it is even listed in the article of Trent Reznor on Wikipedia. It was further pointed out that if you do a Google search, the information comes right up also.

But, I did not put the information up so I could share information that is available just about anywhere. I put it up because people may hear or see the name "Michael Reznor" and I wanted to let them know that it's not only Trent's name, but it was his father's name, too. I don't plan on adding Trent's mom, sister, grandma, grandpa, or any other family member's name. So, may I reinstate the information? General Help With Research

Tony thanks for the correspondance! I posted this in another section but right now inorder to actually find something i need some help. Here's what I posted in the SBI discussion area

Here's one thing I've been trying to work on with my photo editing program. 
I think there is a possibility that some of the images that are in the background 
are pieces of a larger image. Has anyone checked this out besides me?

Thats my bad. But if you look at the scrambled words in the background images that create the words from banned text that we've found. I think the same can be done with the pieces of images that are back there in the same way. I think theres even more there that were not seeing. Right now I'm attempting it on the SBI un-passworded site. Another is here http://anotherversionofthetruth.com/opal.htm at the bottom of the page a large purple image at the bottom matches some other things on the site. I just was wanting to know if there was some man power that some people would be willing to donate to see if it's something that could pan out. I say this because if you go into the source code for the pages, the background is not a singular image as it is on most pages of this simplicity, but a series of 4 to 8, maybe more than that on other larger pages. I've been working alot lately so I haven't had alot of time to test my ideas in photoshop yet but I think the background images are all the same size and if they are overlayed and then the opacity is lowered so they can all mesh... Hi, men! I want to translate the ninwiki to spanish. I'm not very sure where I must write this, I suppose here is a good place. Actually, I'm studying Arts and my talents is better to draw or write stories than to translate english texts to spanish, but with some time and a good dictionary I can do a good job, and, more important, I'm sure that in the future more people will join the initiative (and sure somebody better than me!). I'm specially interested on the World of Year Zero articles; I thinks it's a very good story, and know other people that are very interest on it. Remixes Deleted?

Any reason why you deleted the links to my remixes? My site was down for about 5 minutes while I moved it over to a new host, but the files/songs are still available.

Haha, no I'm not the owner of MansonWiki, but I am in fact admin there. If I'm not mistaken however, Litso has already added the NinWiki to the Friends list. Now if I'M not mistaken you're the owner of NinWiki, so while I'm here, congrats on a sweet site! A lot of formatting I've done for song pages and album pages and such at MansonWiki was actually modeled after such related pages on this site, as I particularly liked the organized appearance. Tony question for you

This whole ninwiki, is it a free speech or a controlled (anti-trent) message board?

I believe one thing Trent stood for is to speak your mind and truth from the heart. If a person has a comment whether it is about an article or someone's post then should we be allowed to do that? As long as it isn't threatening or criminal.

I have been looking through some of the comments and the ones you left in response to them and I am shaking my head.

One in particular-

The one user comment on Aaron North article. The user - who knows Aaron personally- left a legitmate response. The fact this user helped Aaron and the band before he left for NIN. He was a father figure. And now a concerned father figure.

So if the comment is just a response to the article and as long as it isn't criminal, harrasment,etc., then let us do that. Please don't comment the user by restricting their free speech by stating "No shit talk".

I am a huge fan of Trent's and met a few times. Aaron----hmmm---I rather plead the 5th Amendment. My friend sold Trent's real estate in New Orleans. And I heard a lot from Trent of what he believes. So may we honor him by letting us communicate.

Timelining

I've been looking through the many websites that have been springing up left right and centre, and I'm not so much confused, just interested in why EVERYTHING is dated. All the "newspapers" have dates, all e-amils have dates, everything has a date alongside it. I know it's probably to make eveerything look a little more "official" per se, but what if it does all link in to something? Has anyone looked in detail at all the dates and tried to link the people/places/events to something bigger?

image resolutions/additional artwork

a lot of the articles have low res images, i was curious if this is for a reason or if we should replace with higher resolution images and possibly scans of the ENTIRE artwork for an album rather than just the cover.

For the noob?

hi, i relatively new to the ninwiki, so i was wondering if you could help me.

i was hoping to make an article regarding the motif on the downward spiral. it would go in depth to the meaning behind it and the different versions (from what i know, there are 4 songs that have the motif) and i was wondering if where do i go to get clearance to do so?

also, if i do get clearance (which i don't think i may), i was wondering is there any page that has the correct formating code i could follow (cuz like i said, i'm new to the whole wiki experience).

Thumbnails won't show

Both QueenFUBAR and I have encountered this problem when we try and post thumbnails of images. We follow the protocol correctly but instead of the thumbnail appearing, all we get is an error message saying the file doesn't exist, even though it's uploaded and linked properly.--leo3375 12:37, 24 July 2008 (PDT)

Hoping for a bit of help getting another discography made into a wiki

Hi Tony. I won't make this unnecessarily long, but I was hoping that in the spirit of the Wikipedia-type appearance of this site, you might be able to help me out with something. Since 1997 I have been the webmaster for the most comprehensive discography for the band Live. My collection of discography items grew to 853 releases before I started selling it last year. Basically, I have been planning to revamp the discography site for Live, and I've decided that going the route of a wiki is the best option. Furthermore, I really like the look and versatility of Wikipedia (and ninwiki), and I was hoping to start the Live discography wiki in the same style. However...I'm having a bit of trouble figuring out how to install the software necessary for designing one (I've downloaded the latest version from MediaWiki, but I'm lost after that). The current Live discography I've got is being hosted on servers located in the same city I live in, and I get the impression from the literature at MediaWiki that I have to upload and install the softweare to those servers....or, am I way off?

In short, you guys here at ninwiki got this thing off to a great start, and I'm confident I will be able to create an amazing environment for the Live discography as a wiki....I just need a bit of advice or help at the beginning stages. Again, once I've got the basic framework up and I can begin editing it myself, I will require no additional help. I know it might be asking for a few minutes of your time, and for a band discography that you might not care about, but I'm asking for any direction you can give me. What exactly do I need to do to get my own wiki started?
