Talk:Demon Seed
This song may hold reference to 'The Great Destroyer' and may also be about that character from Year Zero, or Trent's Role in this. There are also some similarities to the song 'Burn' Robertwalthall 02:45, 6 May 2008 (PDT)
It's about the alien embryo implanted in trent after his abduction on the songs lights in the sky. Velvolver 20:52, 6 May 2008 (PDT)
I agree there seems to be some connection to 'The Great Destroyer'. If the album is related to Year Zero at all, it seems this song would fit somewhere before before The Great Destroyer. Aeontriad 03:13, 15 May 2008 (PDT)
Lyrcis
I noticed that this is the only song from the album that has the different sections of the song numbered, perhaps pointing out cycles or phases. I checked this against the lyrics contained in the song files. Aeontriad
Trent can be heard counting to 6 just before verse/part 5. Aeontriad
- To be exact, he counts 1-6 and starts the fifth cycle. St10109ed 12:04, 7 June 2008 (PDT)
- Also, The '3' part of the song isn't sung at all.

There's also a 1977 film called Demon Seed. -Mardus 06:24, 24 August 2008 (PDT)
On the discusion of lyrics I think it should be noted that in the lyrics from WT's The Collector, he mentions feelings that he collects... And that they breath and grow inside him, like the demon seed.
It may also be related to echoplex in that the 'they' he speeks of may be his feelings. Pinecone 20:04, 7 January 2009 (PST)
time signature
From the article: "Its time signature is 6/4, as Trent Reznor can be heard indicating it at a couple points in the song." This part needs some clarification. What do you mean, "heard indicating it," and at what "points in the song" does Trent do this? --Piroteknix 20:26, 8 March 2009 (PDT)
Red Horse Vector
Think about it. The lyrics could be quite reminiscent of the Red Horse Virus in the YZ game... it would also explain all of the red lines to a certain point, as it's a highly contagious virus. Just thinking this might be something to look into, you know? Longkayurislong 07:30, 19 October 2009 (PDT)
