Changes

[[Nine Inch Nails]] played at the Sommet Center in Nashville, Tennessee, on October 31, 2008as part of the [[Lights In The Sky Tour]]. [[Related_bands_and_artists#HEALTH|HEALTH]] was the opening act.

During In the spirit of Halloween, [[Robin Finck]] appeared on stage wearing a Leatherface mask for the first few songs of the concert. [[Trent Reznor]] and the rest of the band were also highly energetic during the show. Some of this energy may have resulted from the technical difficulties the band was experiencing on stage. Reznor appeared to be very pissed off about his guitar, stage effects, and sound during the concert. In the opening moments of "[[Echoplex]]", when [[Josh Freese ]] tried to activate the LCD touch lcd screen drum machine, it failed , and the beat had to be activated by soundboard. During Reznor later commented on this and the absence of one of his crew members during an extended talk with the crowd, during which he also introduced the band, before performing "[[The Good Soldier]]". Here is Reznor's speech in full:  <blockquote>“Thank you very much for spending Halloween here with us. It’s almost becoming a breaktradition. Thank you. So we normally don’t say too much on stage, Trent commentedbut I’ll share something that’s on my mind. We have one of our crew guys who went missing today. I’m not lying. This is not a joke. He’s the guy in charge of tech with the screens. So we don’t – no one knows where he went, saying that and we’re kind of winging it was because , hoping everything works, and [there are] a lot of things fucking up tonight, but our main concern is that we find this guy, [be]cause he’s our friend. So that’s on my mind, and then somebody, some , uh – let me think of how to put this. When we played "Echoplex", we had some trickery going on up here, and some cocksucker with out there has a little laser pointerand decided to fuck us up tonight." He then went on to say Now, the old me – [[1995/01/12 Kalamazoo, MI|a few years ago]] – I would’ve said someone punch the motherfucker in the since face or send him up here and I’ll punch the main visual guy went missing today (he said he hoped they would find shit out of him). But see, they had been winging that was then. Now I’m just gonna calmly let it visuallygo. He also said that playing on Halloween in Nashville is turning into But if anybody does see someone with a "nice traditionlaser pointer, I can’t be responsible for what might happen or should happen to the motherfucker who was shining it at the screen. Meanwhile, we’ve got family here. I’m swearing, I’m sorry. I’d like to introduce my excellent band and friends."”</blockquote>
