5 Ghosts I
This is the only known version. It begins with a humming/buzzing sound effect. It consists of a basic guitar and piano melody with what sounds like breathing. The descending piano melody is similar to the recurring melody heard on The Downward Spiral.
Live
"5 Ghosts I" made its debut on July 28, 2008, and appeared at around half of the shows on the Lights In The Sky Tour.
Differences In Artwork
It should be noted that much of the artwork embedded in the files of the official download of Ghosts I–IV from nin.com are not just cropped versions of the photographs in the PDF. In this case, the two photographs are completely different.
