→‎Origin: I decided to remove the "STUMM for albums" bit as STUMM is just part of the standard catalogue number of Mute Records, DM's record label (STUMM is german for "mute")
==Origin==
Trent Reznor's decision to use a numbering system for his releases stemmed from the fact that Depeche Mode had already come up with a similar system, using STUMM for albums and BONG for singles.[http://www.reddit.com/r/IAmA/comments/134vgv/i_am_trent_reznor_of_nine_inch_nails_and_how_to/c70u4mg?context=3]
