A prominent pre-recorded vocal recording, perhaps saying the title, occurs when the drums and bass come in at the beginning of the song, and bounce between the stereo channels as they fade. The [[Fragility]] Tour version of the song featured a rare instance of Reznor playing bass.

A reworked version of "Just Like You Imagined" was performed throughout encores on the [[Fragility v2.0]] tour, a theremin part replacing the complex piano work.
In two of the final shows of the [[Wave Goodbye Tour]], Mike Garson guested on piano to perform the song, much like the studio version. This happened again twice for the [[Cold And Black And Infinite Tour]], the only other live performances of this song.
