Maybe Capital G is about a government so large and bold that it's Government with a capital G. That seems to be a big push of this concept. --Tsguitar 21:44, 22 February 2007 (PST)

God and Government. Same thing. Aeonite 21:50, 22 February 2007 (PST)

i was thinking along the same lines.. the guns god and government theory

I figured the G was for god. I think that's because it follows that "god for this one" lyric. Just sounded like that when I listened to it not focused for once

== This Song meaning Straight from TR's mouth == Sorry to erase the debate, but the song meaning has now come straight from the horses mouth: At this German magazine: http://www.motor.de/motormeinung/motor.de/nine_inch_nails_der_apokalyptische_reiter.htmlthey ask: Capital G scheint aber schon ziemlich deutlich auf George W. zugeschnitten zu sein, oder?or roughly, "Capital G is about George W., right?"  Trent responds:"Capital G." bedeutet "Greed". or"Capital G" refers to "Greed"  but he does go on to say that it can be applied to Bush, or whomever you feel appropriate. Info's been added to the main page. : http://www.exterminal.net/notes.htm also backs up the "G=Greed" interp, since the author of that note write arrows from monetary figures and "why do this?" to "capital G." Good to see 42e sticking with Reznor's original interp... shows they're working closely. Granted we had no reason to expect otherwise, but it's nice to know. -Dij 08:25, 17 April 2007 (PDT) ==The Theories Section==I just changed the wording of the "Theories" section on the page. Hopefully it will bring meaningful discussion about these theories to this page.--Leo3375 14:00, 11 April 2007 (PDT): I'm all for just adding links to the respective ETS threads for each song. That seems to be the way to go, as ETS is a much better place to discuss things such as this. --Tony 14:37, 11 April 2007 (PDT)::Ooh! Good idea! I can remove the Theories section from the page and add external links to ETS!--Leo3375 14:38, 11 April 2007 (PDT):::Anyway you guys wanna do it. ^_^ --GrayscaleRain 14:39, 11 April 2007 (PDT) ==Capital G==I just thought I'd say if you look at preordering Year Zero on Amazon there is pretty idiotic a little sticker that says "Including Survivalism and Capital G" suggesting it might be a single to come. Thought I'd help you guys. == Sounds Like? == Do we need the external link that describes it as having a swing blah blah? As now any of us (with some proper research) can hear it on our own? Like with the Vessel article saying it sounded like Down In It, I dont think we need someone telling us how it sounds now that its available... Especially because its a short description... Jgrizzy89 16:34, 11 April 2007 (PDT):The external link is to an early review of Year Zero. You can take it down and move it to the "Year Zero" page if you'd like.--Leo3375 18:58, 12 April 2007 (PDT) == Second single? == Any evidence other than the sticker? Pomte 21:09, 16 April 2007 (PDT) == Miscellaneous == It's not clear as to who the unknown inmate is who was found with the audio evidence "Capital G" so the speculative tag has been added. Abject 11:27, 16th Aprial 2007 (PDT) == Possibly of some value == I think that exhibitA and the actual Capital G from Year Zero is different in that exhibitA is out of phase -- where one has a crest the other has a trough (when at the same position in the song) I don't know if there's any way to see if the data has anything hidden when comparing the two. Also, if this has been pointed out before I offer my condolances because I've been out of the ARG loop for a while. Edman274 14:00, 13 January 2008 (PST) * Yep, it's already been found. sorry everyone. Edman274 14:12, 13 January 2008 (PST)
Not only are there multiple grammatical and spelling errors on this page, but the theories is completely off base. If you want to have that * You'non-political non-threatening' explanation of what the song is about, than, alright, it's re almost a theoryyear late. But this song is blatantly about President George W. Bush. Not only does it say You'I pushed the button ll be fine. Just look over ETS and elected him here to office" it then says "and make sure youhe signs his name with a capital G". Also, if Trent Reznor is singing from the point of view of someone who used to 'stand for something' and no longer cares for other people/things, and this person is the one that put capital G into office, then it's safe to assume Reznor is saying that those who put him into office are these such people. Not only do the lyrics STRONGLY suggest this as the true meaning of the song, but the incident Reznor had with MTV, along with how many times during the With_Teeth tour that he used images of Bush to portray the negative aspects of hims song lyrics, both provide re not asking a background to his feelings towards Bush and what he has done as a President. Whether these opinions accurately reflect his fans or not, or if this interpretation would offend anyone who read it, does not matter, as it is clearly Reznor's viewredundant question.
