Maybe Capital G is about a government so large and bold that it's Government with a capital G. That seems to be a big push of this concept. --Tsguitar 21:44, 22 February 2007 (PST)

God and Government. Same thing. Aeonite 21:50, 22 February 2007 (PST)

i was thinking along the same lines.. the guns god and government theory

I figured the G was for god. I think that's because it follows that "god for this one" lyric. Just sounded like that when I listened to it not focused for once

== This is pretty idiotic Song meaning Straight from TR's mouth == Sorry to erase the debate, but the song meaning has now come straight from the horses mouth: At this German magazine: http://www.motor.de/motormeinung/motor.de/nine_inch_nails_der_apokalyptische_reiter.htmlthey ask: Capital G scheint aber schon ziemlich deutlich auf George W. zugeschnitten zu sein, oder?or roughly, "Capital G is about George W., right?"  Trent responds:"Capital G." bedeutet "Greed". or"Capital G" refers to "Greed"  but he does go on to say that it can be applied to Bush, or whomever you feel appropriate. Info's been added to the main page.
Not only are there multiple grammatical and spelling errors on this page, but the theories section is completely off base. If you want to have that 'non-political non-threatening' explanation of what the song is about, than, alright, it's a theory: http://www. But this song is blatantly about President George Wexterminal. Bushnet/notes. Not only does it say 'I pushed htm also backs up the button and elected him to office" it then says "and he signs his name with a capital G=Greed". Alsointerp, if Trent Reznor is singing from since the point author of view of someone who used to 'stand for something' and no longer cares for other people/things, that note write arrows from monetary figures and "why do this person is the one that put ?" to "capital G into office, then it." Good to see 42e sticking with Reznor's safe to assume Reznor is saying that those who put him into office are these such peopleoriginal interp... shows they're working closely. Not only do the lyrics STRONGLY suggest this as the true meaning of the song, but the incident Reznor Granted we had with MTV, along with how many times during the With_Teeth tour that he used images of Bush no reason to portray the negative aspects of his song lyricsexpect otherwise, both provide a background to his feelings towards Bush and what he has done as a President. Whether these opinions accurately reflect his fans or not, or if this interpretation would offend anyone who read it, does not matter, as but it is clearly Reznor's viewnice to know. -Jgrizzy89Dij 1808:4825, 10 17 April 2007 (PDT)
:==The Theories Section==I think theories should stay at just changed the bottom wording of the "Theories" section on the page. Hopefully it will bring meaningful discussion about these theories to this page.--Leo3375 14:00, we don't want every yahoo posting their interpretations of songs. :: Leo==Capital G==I just thought I's been the one moving it to the top. So far the only theories being posted are the more or less widly accepted ones. People are free to elaborate, but d say if you feel look at preordering Year Zero on Amazon there is a theory is unknown or not widly held you're encouraged to move little sticker that says "Including Survivalism and Capital G" suggesting it might be a single to the talk section :D -- BurnHavoc 3:04, 11 April 2007 (EST)come. Thought I'd help you guys.
:If there is going to be a Theories subsection in the articles, it makes more sense for it to be near the top, with the rest of the general information about the song (Meanings, interpretations, relationships, etc.).== Sounds Like? ==
:Do we need the external link that describes it as having a swing blah blah? As for now any of us (with some proper research) can hear it on our own? Like with the theory that Vessel article saying it's about George W. Bushsounded like Down In It, I dont think we need someone telling us how it makes sense sounds now that its available... :: While I would normally support that, the concept album is supposed to have been "transported" back in time from year zero, so Bush wouldn't be very accurate as he hasn't been in power for almost a decade and a half decades by year zero. I'm supporting of the theory that it's in regard to government regulated beliefs. It's a reference to hardliner christians who control religion in the country, the types who get angry if you type god insted of God. He's basically commenting on the fucked up state people are in with accepting a government regulated belief in "God" rather Any evidence other than the individual beliefs in whatever form of god you prefer. I've frequented places online where I've been threatened with kickbans and IP bans for not capitalizing the G in god so I can perfectly well understand where this song is probally comming from. -- sticker? ::: @Leo: Facts first, theory second. It's a pretty standard convention for wiki-writing, stemming from generally accepted journalism and encyclopedia style guides, and it just makes sense. Casual readers can get meaningful info (lyrics, dates performed, remixes etc) without having to slog through a dozen conflicting theories about what the song means if theory-stuff is at the bottom.== Miscellaneous ==
::: IIt'm also in the camp that capital G does s not refer clear as to GWB. Yes, Reznor has openly bashed him, and I agree 100% who the unknown inmate is who was found with those sentiments... but that's just not what's being referenced here. The big the audio evidence "Capital G could be God, Government, Greed" so the speculative tag has been added... possibly GunsAbject 11:27, but that doesn't feel right.16th Aprial 2007 (PDT)
::: Hey, it's art, not a lecture. Maybe it's intentionally *gasp* open to interpretation. -- Dij 16:34, April 11 2007 (EST)== Possibly of some value ==
:::: While I agree to certain degrees, there IS think that exhibitA and the actual Capital G from Year Zero is different in that exhibitA is out of phase -- where one has a table on contents for crest the other has a reason. Nontheless if you feel that that kinda stuff should be trough (when at the bottom, you are free same position in the song) I don't know if there's any way to edit all see if the pages and move them downdata has anything hidden when comparing the two. Just try to be consistant and move them ALL down rather than just one or twoAlso, if this has been pointed out before I offer my condolances because I've been out of the ARG loop for a while. -- BurnHavocEdman274 1614:5600, April 11 2007 13 January 2008 (ESTPST)
I just don't see why an overview of Theories should be kept separate from information such as a song's meaning and interpretations. Isn't a theory a type of song interpretation? For now I'm keeping the Theories sections where they are* Yep, and any elaboration on them should be on that particular articleit's Discussion pagealready been found. That is what we're doing here, for examplesorry everyone.--Leo3375Edman274 1314:5412, 11 April 2007 13 January 2008 (PDTPST)
: I think he* You're almost a year late... You's suggusting that both sections Theories and Miscellaneous should ll be put below Appearances, Versions fine. Just look over ETS and Lyrics, here to make sure you're not just move theories itself, that way more relevant facts about the songs are up front and the interpertations and opinions are later on in the articleasking a redundant question. -- BurnHavocNe0v001 1716:3338, April 11 2007 13 January 2008 (ESTPST)
