Jeremiah's girlfriend was born in Tajikistan, the same place where the experiment of Red Horse was made. Does her family might have some connection with that?

Where does it say anywhere in the pages that this journal chronicles Darren Kroupa? The only name I see that refers to the writer is Jeremiah Snow... his mother says "Jeremiah Snow, where did you get that [beer]?" I can't find anything that says Kroupa. After reading Grace the Teacher, it ocurred to me that it might be influenced by "Me, I'm Not." Particularly the bit about how he keeps stealing beer from the gas station and never gets caught, and how wracked he is by his new, exploding emotions. "I define myself by how well I hide." "If I knew back then what I know right now..."
