The Downward Spiral was mixed into a 5.1 surround format for it's tenth anniversary. It was re-released in a two CD set. The first CD is a [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SACD SACD]/CD hybrid of The Downward Spiral "remixed and remastered in high resolution stereo and 5.1 surround sound." The second CD is a CD with "remixes, b-sides, demos, and non-album tracks." The Downward Spiral was also re-released in a [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/DualDisc DualDisc] format. The CD side is The Downward Spiral "digitally remastered." The DVD side contains "the downward spiral digitally remixed and remastered in stereo and 5.1 surround sound, high resolution stereo and surround playback on dvd-audio players, dolby digital stereo and surround playback on standard dvd players, music videos: [[Closer|closer]] (surround and stereo), [[March Of The Pigs (song)|march of the pigs]], [[Hurt|hurt]], image gallery, [and] discography."

The re-release of The Downward Spiral has started rumors (along with Trent's own words, shown below) that [[The Fragile (halo)|The Fragile]], [[Broken]]/[[Fixed]], and [[Pretty Hate Machine]] will be re-released in high definition stereo and surround sound.
