Primary contributors are the Reid brothers, Jim and William. The band draws heavily from garage rock and noise and is a forerunner of the shoegaze genre. <br>Their song "Snakedriver" appears alongside Nine Inch Nails' rendition of "[[Dead Souls]]" on the 1994 soundtrack to ''The Crow.''

[[Nine Inch Nails]] were the opening act for the The Jesus and Mary Chain's [[Automatic Tour|1990 tour ]] in support of their third record, <i>''Automatic</i>. Their song 'Snakedriver' appears alongside Nine Inch Nails. The Jesus and Mary Chain were then chosen in 2018 as the main support act for NIN' rendition of [[Dead Souls]] on the 1994 soundtrack to s [[the CrowCold And Black And Infinite Tour]].
