In 2016, a host of other score music from Reznor and Ross was announced. In June, the pair released a [[Juno|standalone track]] for a short film about NASA's Juno Mission. This was followed by the ''[[Before The Flood Soundtrack]]'' (a collaboration with Mogwai and Gustavo Santaolalla) and the ''[[Patriots Day Soundtrack]]''. Delivering on a promise made in 2015 for new music from NIN the following year, the ''[[Not The Actual Events]]'' EP was officially released on December 23, 2016. In 2017, it was revealed that ''Not The Actual Events'' was the first in a [[The Trilogy|trilogy]] of related releases and the second installment, ''[[Add Violence]]'', was released on July 21. Reznor and Ross scores for ''[[The Vietnam War Original Score|The Vietnam War]]'' as well as the short film ''[[The Black Ghiandola]]'' followed.
The third installment of the aforementioned trilogy, ''[[Bad Witch]]'', was released on June 22, 2018. The trilogy was supported with the [[NIN 2017-2018]] touring cycle, including a back-to-basics trek with [[The Jesus and Mary Chain]] (named the [[Cold And Black And Infinite Tour]]) that saw the live debuts of "[[And All That Could Have Been (song)|And All That Could Have Been]]" and "[[The Perfect Drug (song)|The Perfect Drug]]". That year also saw a partial Reznor and Ross score for ''[[Mid90s (Original Music From The Motion Picture)|Mid90s]]''. It was also announced that The following year saw a flurry of activity from Reznor and Ross would be doing the , with scores for ''[[Bird Box Original Score|Bird Box]]''(including an extended box set version), ''[[Waves Soundtrack(Original Score)|Waves]]'' and HBO's ''[[Watchmen (Music From The HBO Series)|Watchmen]]'' series in 2019. In spring 2019, Reznor had the honor of inducting one of his inspirations, The Cure, into the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame.  Scores for ''[[The Woman In The Window Soundtrack'', ''[[Soul (Original Score)|Soul]]'', and David Fincher's ''[[Mank (Original Musical Score)|Mank]]'' were announced for 2020. In late 2019, it was revealed that Reznor and Ross had completed their avant-garde score for ''The Woman In The Window'' but that it had been scrapped due to a change in the film's direction. On March 26, 2020, two more volumes of the ''[[Ghosts]]'' series (''[[Ghosts V: Together]]'' and ''[[Soul Soundtrack|SoulGhosts VI: Locusts]]'' ) were announced released in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic. On November 7, 2020, Reznor and NIN were inducted into the [[Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame]]. Reznor had previously inducted The Cure, one of his influences. In 2021, ''Soul'' repeated the feat of ''The Social Network'', earning Reznor and Ross both the Academy Award and Golden Globe for 2020best original score.
Today, Reznor is happier than he's ever been. He feels that he has found his calling in life and has found joy in creating music. Although he admits he could very easily relapse into his old ways, because he has been there, he has said he never wants to go back. He and his [[Mariqueen Maandig-Reznor|wife]] currently reside in California with their children and dogs.
