This is the original album version. It begins with an off-kilter beat, followed by a distorted synth bass. Reznor's vocal has an odd, halting cadence during the verses that somewhat corresponds to the lumbering nature of the beat. The chorus brings in a heavily distorted guitar squall, and a chaotic synth pattern at the end. The second verse adds in more synth and guitar layers. The second chorus adds background vocals and the "Greed!" chant at the end, and a layer of just barely audible horns underneath. The final chorus brings in yet another layer of background vocals.

Released by Reznor through his remix.nin.com account, this unmastered version is the almost same as the album cut, save the lack of vocals and a different ending, which drops out all of the layers except the drum beat as it repeats for a few bars before stopping. It incorporates a house beat and minimalist lyrics. In addition, the melody is vastly different, sounding somewhat like radio feedback rather than distorted guitars or wind instruments, which were used in the original album version.
