'''''The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo Soundtrack''''' was scored by [[Trent Reznor]] and [[Atticus Ross]] for [[David Fincher]]'s 2011 US adaptation of ''The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo,'' based on the bestselling novel by Stieg Larsson. This is the second soundtrack that Reznor and Ross have worked on together, the previous being preceded by ''[[The Social Network Soundtrack]],'' and followed by the ''[[Gone Girl Soundtrack]]'', also for David Fincher. Its release number is [[Halo numbers|Null 02]], in keeping with [[The Null Corporation]]'s numbering system.
The soundtrack details were announced December 2nd 2011, along with a free sampler. Earlier that day, "[[Immigrant Song]]" premiered on KROQ radio, and was made available as a download to anyone who purchased the iTunes preorder of the album. In addition, the iTunes preorder was accompanied with an extended 8 minute trailer for the film, scored specially by Reznor and Ross. The digital album was made available on December 9th, and the CD on December 27th.
