The vinyl version versions of each volume are referential to in-world content from the series. Volume 01 is presented as an album called ''The Book of Rorshach'' by a fictional band from the series, Sons Of Pale Horse. Volume 02 is presented as the soundtrack to the series within the series, ''American Hero Story''. Each volume is detailed with a faux tracklisting and faux recording info.
Reznor and Ross also created the theme for the end credits of the show, which is a mashup of three tracks from Volume 01: "Nun With A Motherf*&*ing Gun", "Never Surrender", and "Owl Hunts Rat". An extended version of this composition was posted to the official [[Nine Inch Nails]] YouTube channel.
