On September 9, 1999, [[Nine Inch Nails]] appeared on the MTV Video Music Awards at the Metro Metropolitan Opera Theater House in New York, New York. The band performed the title track off their upcoming album ''[[The Fragile (halo)|The Fragile]]'', though originally was slated to perform the album's second single, "[[We're In This Together (song)|We're In This Together]]".
