This is the only known version. Aggressive drums and guitar riff start the song. A distorted synthesizer plays, and drones fade in underneath, leading to a heavy guitar riff reminiscent of ''[[The Fragile (halo)|The Fragile]]''-era songs. The riff ends, and synth noise plays in its place. The guitar riff re-enters, followed by layers of noise that build up and end abruptly, leaving a quiet drone that ends the song.

According to a [[nin.com]] post by [[Rob Sheridan]], NIN played "31 Ghosts IV" live in Seattle on [[2008/07/26 Seattle, WA|July 26, 2008]]. It then become a staple on the [[Lights In The Sky Tour]]. It was played as a one-off in Japan on [[2014/02/26 Tokyo, Japan|February 26, 2014]] - the only time a song from ''Ghosts I-IV'' has never been played liveoutside of the Lights in the Sky Tour. ==Differences in Artwork==It should be noted that much of the artwork embedded in the files of the official download of ''[[Ghosts I–IV]]'' from nin.com are not just cropped versions of the photographs in the PDF.
