Before joining Nine Inch Nails, he was a part of the Los Angeles punk band The Icarus Line. He was known as Aaron Icarus while he was in the band. In late 2008, Aaron suffered a nervous breakdown, and had numerous confrontations after subsequent hospitalisations, he realised his disapproval with the lawJubilee and Buddyhead, as well as with other bands. This includes being banned from various high class L.Aceasing involvement in both. clubs for drunken remarks from vocalist Joe Cardamone and destruction to venue equipment by Aaronhas not participated in any sort of music act since then.

During a 2002 show with The Icarus Line at the Hard Rock Cafe in Austin, Texas, North used a mic stand to smash a protective case that contained a guitar that belonged to Stevie Ray Vaughan.
