==Biography==

In 2003, a friend suggested that Maandig audition for a band that was looking for a female vocalist. She ultimately got the role of backing vocalist in West Indian Girl, a psychedelic indie-rock band. Her creative input in the band was minimal, but she became a face associated with the band. In the fall of 2008 she accepted an offer from ''Playboy'' magazine to be featured as the "Becoming Attraction" for the January 2009 issue. The feature helped to create some buzz around both her and the band. Maandig left West Indian Girl in the summer of 2009 to pursue her own career and do something where she would have more creative input.

In February of 2010, Maandig went into the studio with [[Nine Inch Nails]] founder [[Trent Reznor]] and his longtime collaborator [[Atticus Ross]] to begin recording songs for a new music project, How To Destroy Angels, and over the next few months recorded the songs that formed their self-titled debut EP, ''[[How To Destroy Angels (album)|How To Destroy Angels]]''. Since then, the band have released a cover of Bryan Ferry's "[[Is Your Love Strong Enough?]]" for 2011's ''[[The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo Soundtrack]]'' and their second EP, ''[[An Omen EP]]'' and first album, ''[[Welcome Oblivion (album)|Welcome Oblivion]]''~~. They are currently signed to [[Columbia Records]], with [[Rob Sheridan]] as the band's fourth member~~.
