Big emphasis band puts on artwork and visuals along with complex song structures (most notably [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lateralus_(song) Lateralus]) brought Tool recognition in progressive- / art-rock genre.
[[Nine Inch Nails]] have played festivals with Tool, such as [[2007/08/18 Hasselt, Belgium|Pukkelpop]] and the [[2007/09/02 Bologna, Italy|Independent Days Festival]]. [[Trent Reznor]], [[Danny Lohner]] and [[Charlie Clouser]] also collaborated with singer [[Maynard James Keenan]] on the [[Tapeworm]] project.
