"Wish" has become a staple of the [[Nine Inch Nails]] live shows, performed at nearly every show, due to its high energy and guitar-oriented structure. The instrumental bridge is played by guitars rather than synthesizers in nearly every instance. When this song debuted on the [[Lollapalooza Tour]] in 1991, it was musically very similar to the final version, but with different lyrics. The bridge lyrics of "I can't turn back, but I want to..." were sometimes sung during the [[Self Destruct Touring Cycle]] and then were ususally absent on subsequent tours.
