Tori Amos (born Myra Ellen Amos on August 22, 1963) is an American singer/songwriter and vocalist known for her unique and proficient style of piano playing. She has released 9 studio albums and one under the band moniker Y Kant Tori Read, and has gathered a large cult following due to her eccentric personality and captivating live shows.

Trent Reznor contributed vocals on Amos's single "Past The Mission" from the 1994 album Under The Pink. His vocals for the song were uncharacteristically, and somewhat unrecognizably soft and pleasant. Amos has also been known to perform a portion of "Hurt" in concert, and has made several allusions to Nine Inch Nails in her solo work, most notably in "Precious Things" from Little Earthquakes and "Caught a Lite Sneeze" from Boys for Pele. The two were once close friends, though their relationship is currently undetermined.
