The Voodoo Festival was moved to Memphis in 2005 after Hurricane Katrina left New Orleans in ruin. Nine Inch Nails saw that they had a free day on their touring schedule and decided to play both the Memphis Voodoo Festival and the [[2005/10/29 New Orleans, LA|New Orleans]] Voodoo Festival, which was quickly put together the day before as primarily a thank-you to rescue and relief workers.
