Annie

Believed to be Andrea Mulrain. She was "a college sweetheart/ heartbreak situation" of Trent Reznor's. Her name appears in "The Becoming" and is the only name of a person to ever appear in a NIN song.

Another Crashed Car

Another Version of the Truth

• Song: The fourteenth track off of Year Zero. A remix by the Kronos Quartet and Enrique Gonzalez Müller is featured on Y34RZ3R0R3M1X3D.
• Website: Fictional website created for the story of Year Zero. On first glance, the website appears to be nothing more than a large graphic, with a simple, patriotic, (if somewhat propagandistic) American message, and it is labeled at the bottom as coming from the US Bureau of Morality. Upon more digging, a message board is revealed in which citizens are discussing many things about society, mostly involving resistance to the oppressive authority in place.
• Film: A three-part concert film created by This One Is On Us.

Apart

Appendage

Also known as "+Appendage", this is a short piece of music that was tacked onto the end of "Please" on the cassette edition of The Fragile. A version of this track can be found on The Fragile: Deviations 1.

Around Every Corner

The second track off of the album Ghosts VI: Locusts. No other versions of this track are currently available.

The Art of Self Destruction, Part One

The second track off of Further Down The Spiral. This track is a remix of "Mr. Self Destruct."

Martin Atkins

Drummer and session musician who has worked with NIN. Also formed the supergroup Pigface, which Trent Reznor contributed to.

Initialism for "All The Love In The World".

At The Heart Of It All

The seventh track on both versions of Further Down The Spiral. This track was created (and performed) by Aphex Twin, and is currently the only track to ever appear on a NIN release that is not at least partially performed by NIN. A shorter version appears on the Aphex Twin release 26 Mixes for Cash.

Bad Witch

The third in a trilogy of related releases, preceded by Not The Actual Events and Add Violence. Also known as Halo 32.

Bauhaus

A rock band whom co-headlined with Nine Inch Nails during their Summer Amphitheatre Tour. Lead Singer Peter Murphy collaborated with Trent Reznor for several special radio appearances. See the Wikipedia entry of Bauhaus for more details.

Sean Beavan

Engineer and producer who worked with NIN and also mixed live sound. Also a member of Cool Down Daddy with Trent Reznor.

Beats Music

A streaming music service that was partially created by Trent Reznor and Rob Sheridan, later acquired by Apple and turned into Apple Music.

Adrian Belew

Guitarist who has appeared on several NIN releases. He was also announced to be a part of the NIN live band in early 2013, but was replaced by Robin Finck before the tour started.

Beside You In Time

• Release: Also known as Halo 22. It is a DVD/HD DVD/Blu-ray documenting the Live: With Teeth tour.
• Song: The twelfth track off the album With Teeth. A version of this track also appears on Beside You In Time.

The Beauty Of Being Numb

Closer

Closer To God

• Release: Also known as Halo 9.

Closure

Also known as Halo 12. Closure has been released officially as two VHS tapes with NIN tour footage from the Self-Destruct Tour and NIN music videos. An "unoffical" DVD version was "leaked" via BitTorrent in late December of 2006.

Charlie Clouser

A former NIN band member whose activites included playing drums and keyboard, engineering, mixing, and music programming.

Coil

Electronic music act who remixed many NIN tracks. Coil member Peter Christopherson also directed several music videos and How To Destroy Angels was named after Coil's first single.

Cold And Black And Infinite Tour

The name given to the fourth and most prominent leg of the NIN 2017-2018 tour. It featured The Jesus and Mary Chain as the main opener and used multiple night stands at smaller venues.

The Collector

The third track from With Teeth. A version of this song appears in the bonus features of Beside You In Time.

Complication

The seventh track off of the right disk of The Fragile. A version of this track appears on The Fragile: Deviations 1.

Cool Down Daddy

One of Trent Reznor's early bands in which he played keyboards. Also featured Sean Beavan and early NIN drummer Nick Rushe.

Copy Of A

Corona Radiata

Alessandro Cortini

A musician who was recruited to play with the NIN and HTDA live bands. Member of the band modwheelmood.

CRC Sessions

A live in-studio performance at the Chicago Recording Company during Fragility v2.0, which inspired the stripped-down versions of NIN songs that would appear on Still.

The name given to the tour in 1999-2000 that was in support of the album The Fragile. The first leg was called Fragility v1.0 and took place in Europe, Japan, and Australia. The second leg was called Fragility v2.0 and took place in North America and European festivals. From the Fragility v2.0 leg of the tours, the CD/DVD/VHS, And All That Could Have Been was made.

The Frail

This is the official numbering system of NIN releases. While there is plenty of speculation, there is no official statement of why the word 'halo' is used for this purpose.

Darren Kroupa

A NIN fan who died on April 1, 2007. It is understood that Darren met Trent Reznor via The Francis Foundation. He was allowed to visit with NIN during the production of the Year Zero album, where this photo was taken. Darren was eventually incorporated into the fictional Year Zero world on the website Secure Broadcast Informatics.
